Legal process is essential to the democratic process
Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 1:50AM In our country law is not a body of technicalities in the keeping of specialists or in the service of any special interest. There can be no free society without law administered through an independent judiciary. If one man can be allowed to determine for himself what is law, every man can. That means first chaos, then tyranny. Legal process is an essential part of the democratic process. (Frankfurter, 1947)
